compressed sensing  ---also known as compressive sensing,compressive sampling and spare sampling --is a technique for acquiring and reconstructing a signal utilizing the prior knowledge that it is sparse or compressible. A signal is sparse in a transform domain if it has a large majority of zeros in its transform representation.
