to Jeff

When I stepped into college, I knew that my school life, no matter how exciting or disappointing, would terminate several years later when I graduated and I would begin another phase of my life from then on. However, when I started my job career, I was confused and wondering between the reality and my dream, “Where is my next destination? Will only retirement bring some changes in my life?" That’s quite depressing. Finally, I decided to go abroad to experience the world outside, which was beyond my furthest dream when I was a student. The dream is fascinating, but the way to it is thorny. There were a lot of things lying in the way of my English study, but finally came my English teacher Jeff Taylor.

 

Jeff is a good English teacher. I had attended the IELTS test twice, and writing was always my bottleneck. From a professional viewpoint, Jeff pointed out exactly where my problem was: I recited standard answers and never thought things over for myself. Jeff taught me the way to broaden my scope and see things from different aspects. Jeff’s influence never stops here. Every time when I come to see him, it feels like a journey to another world which is fresh and new. It digs me out of the bubble of my routine life and gives me the strength to reach my dream. From him I found out that I should get out of my little world and keep curious to the world outside.

 

Jeff’s course with me is coming to an end. I think I have learnt how to write creatively. So allow me to say thanks to my dear teacher Jeff again. It’s very interesting to spend time with you.
