After designing the wireframes in Axure RP, you can generate afunctional specification of the design in Microsoft Word format.

The default specification generator creates Word 2007(.docx) files. You do not need Word 2007 installed to generate or view.docx files.

The Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack enables Word 2000,XP, or 2003 to open, edit, and save Word 2007 files. It is installedwith Axure RP if you do not have Word 2007 installed.

3. Configuring and Generating a Specification

To configure and generate the specification, selectGenerate->Specification (F6) in the main menu or click theSpecification button in the main toolbar. This will open the ConfigureWord 2007 Specification dialog. In this dialog, you can configure thespecification.

The options are divided into the following sections:
选项分成如下几个部分：

General: Enter the Destination File where the specification will be generated.

Pages: Select the pages to be included in the specification.

Masters:Select which masters to include in the specification. There is anoption to include master annotations in the page sections of pages thatcontain a master.

Notes: Select and order the page notes to include in the specification.

Annotations:Select and order the annotation fields to be included in thespecification. Annotations can be separated into multiple tables. To dothis click Add New Table and select and order the fields to be includedin each table.

Widgets: Specify the configuration forspecific widgets. For example, choose to includes lists of droplistoptions in the specification.

Word Template: Select and edit thetemplate for your specification. Choose a built-in template by clickingImport Axure Template or import your own template. A template is astandard .docx file. The specification will be generated where“[[INSERT AXURE SPEC]]“ is located in the file. Select a single ortwo-column layout.

The Word 2007 Specification generator creates an Word 2007 Open XML(.docx) document that can be opened in Microsoft Word 2007 or Word2000, XP, and 2003 with the Microsoft Office Compatibility pack. If youare distributing the document to clients or colleagues without Word2007 or the compatibility pack, you can use Word to save to an earlierdocument format.
