CMM: Capability Maturity Model

this article is come from my ppt in software engineering course.

 

cmm is somehing to gauge the process of improving the software process. the five level is corresponding to those description.

 

1. initial level: without procedure, plan, contral, ...

2. repeatable level: control over schedules, consts, ...,

3. defined level: standard, documented process is in place.

4. managed level: everything is under control with quantitative data.

5. optimizing level: attention has shifted from product to process. the data gatherd is used to improve process.

 

in more vivid expression: product and process. (egg and chicken), product is from process, procss is for product, which one is more important?
