features of Unified Process

one of the software development processes currently in wide use is the Rational Unified Process, a proprietary process now owned by IBM but based on the Unified Software Development Process (USDP). The USDP was originally developed by the team that create UML. It is claimed that the USDP embodies much of the currently accepted best practices in information systems development. USDP is often referred to as Unified Process.
