1.加法，addition
加号，plus sign
1 + 1 = 2  (verbally, "one plus one is equal to two")
交换律，commutativity
结合律，associativity

2. 减法，substraction
减号，minus sign
c-b=a，minuend (c) − subtrahend (b) = difference (a)
c minus b leaves a.

3.乘法，multiplication
乘号，multiplication sign
2x3=6 (verbally, "two times three equals six")

4.除法，division
a÷b=c，a divided by b equals c
a is called the dividend, b the divisor and c the quotient.
a/b，"a divided by b", "a by b" or "a over b"

5.指数
X^4: fourth power of X 
Y^1/5: Quintic root of Y 
X的绝对值: Absolute (value) of X 
根号下X的平方加Y的平方: Square root of the sum of x square and y square. 
(2x+1)(4x-3): two x plus one muliplied by four X minus 3 
log以3为底的2: logarithm three to the base two
