The MathWorks公布新版MATLAB及Simulink

The MathWorks宣布推出MATLAB及Simulink产品家族更新版本──R2006a;新版本内容在MATLAB部份,主要是推出Windows x64位平台的MATLAB、提供分布式计算机运算的新功能,以及增加1个应用程序转文件分享目标环境的新产品,包括.NET加载宏工具箱(MATLAB Builder for .NET);在Simulink部份,则增添了Simulink模型检视及分享、嵌入式软件设计及实现等等新功能。

The MathWorks表示,R2006a亦是该公司实现加快产品更新速度的开始;未来该公司将把产品更新转变为一年两次,即3月及9月,而每次的改版也将同步更新所有产品线、增加新的产品功能、修正现有产品bug并公布新产品上市时间。此外配合1年2次的更新时程,该公司新版本将以当年的公元纪年以及次数来做为命名方式,上半年为a、下半年则是以b为代号。

此外自2006a新版本开始,测试版本(prerelease)及新版本的取得方式也将有改变,The MathWorks表示该公司会于产品最后正式发布的前几个星期,主动通知现有维护期内之SMS (Software Maintenance Service)会员客户,客户将会被告知该如何取得测试版本之相关讯息。在测试版期间,客户有机会可了解新版本的改变、进行测试并依此产品更新表做设计之规划。而藉由测试版本之问题回报与改进,该公司亦可改善产品质量及有效性。

Version 7.2, part of Release 2006a, includes existing feature enhancements and the following new features:

Platform Support

  • Support for Windows XP 64-bit edition, enabling Windows users to handle much larger data sets

Development Environment

  • Integration of the M-Lint code analyzer with the MATLAB Editor, providing continuous code checking and recommendations for improving performance and maintainability
  • New editing features in the MATLAB Editor, including the ability to perform tab completion with function names and to navigate back to previous points in an M-file

Programming

  • New regular expression features, including evaluation of MATLAB expressions to perform dynamic matching or replacing of text

Mathematics

  • New ddesd function, enabling you to solve initial value problems for delay differential equations with variable delays
  • Upgraded optimized Basic Linear Algebra Subprogram (BLAS) libraries for Intel processors on Windows and Linux platforms (MKL 8.0.1) and AMD processors on Linux platforms (ACML 2.7)
  • Improved performance of sparse Cholesky factorization and mldivide (/), etree, and symbfact functions with use of CHOLMOD 1.0 routines.

 

 


 

R2006a, launched on March 1, 2006, includes updates to MATLAB and Simulink, plus one new product, major updates to 10 products, and minor updates and bug fixes to 64 products. This release reflects a change to a twice-yearly release schedule and a new naming convention.

R2006a introduces MATLAB for Windows x64 and provides new features for distributed computing, MATLAB application deployment to .NET, Simulink model viewing and sharing, and embedded software design and implementation.

  • New component capabilities let you generate model loop component reports on libraries and include Model Advisor results in your generated reports.
