PSACCESSPRFL

PSACCESSPRFL – is a fundamental table used by the system to sign on and validate an operator’s id account and it stores the Access Id and its password.This table is used together with PSOPRDEFN,PSSTATUS and PSDBOWNER (Oracle\DB2) in the process of authentication at 3-tier or 4-tier level.
When a  Peoplesoft user logs in a certain environment he/she enters the OPRID in the PS sign-in dialog box (PIA level).The system first tries to connect to the database through the Connect Id (the default set one is “people”) and afterwards issues a select on the PSDBOWNER/PSSTATUS table to identify the Owner Id .The PS will then check the Symbolic Id in the PSOPRDEFN table corresponding to the specific user and looks forward in the PSACCESSPRFL table where it tries to map the Symbolic Id with the Access Id and its  password (ACCESSPSWD) (which are encrypted in this table).
The PeopleSoft Access Id is the database management system id which PS applications use to finally connect to the database, like in the image below .

The Symbolic ID acts as an intermediary entity between the User ID and the Access ID. The Access ID should have all the DML privileges necessary to access and actualize data for an entire PeopleSoft application (Select, Update, and Delete).
The PSDBOWNER table is used to map the Peoplesoft database to the schema of the RDBMS database, allowing the system to manage multipe peoplesoft databases within the same RDBMS database instance.
