Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0/ Personal Firewall Kaspersky Anti-Hacker 1.8 and Microsoft ActiveSync

     

Concerning to

  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 Personal (version 5.0 391) 
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 Personal PRO (version 5.0 391 and below) 
  • Personal Firewall Kaspersky Anti-Hacker (version 1.8 and below)

When using Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 Personal (version 5.0 391)/ Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 Personal PRO (version 5.0 391 and below) Personal Firewall Kaspersky Anti-Hacker (version 1.8 and below) compatible with Microsoft Active Sync 4.xxx you can have the following problem: computer starts rebooting, the OS bluescreens, PDA fails to synchronize with the PC. If you have the same problem on your computer, do the following to rectify the problem:

For Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 Personal:

Configure your Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 Personal to update from the server http://d5y.kaspersky-labs.com

  • go to Start > Run > enter regedit in the command line > the registry editor opens
  • in the registry editor in the branch HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/KasperskyLab/Components/3 create a new section URL 
  • in the created branch define a new string value 00 
  • specify the following parameter for it: http://d5y.kaspersky-labs.com 
  • close the editor of the system registry 
  • update Anti-Virus databases (during the update procedure, make sure the databases are updating from http://d5y.kaspersky-labs.com
  • reboot your PC

For Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 Personal PRO:

Configure your Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 Personal PRO to update from the server http://d5y.kaspersky-labs.com

  • in the settings of the update components of the Anti-Virus databases specify http://d5y.kaspersky-labs.com (instead of the Kaspersky Lab's servers set by default) 
  • update the Anti-Virus databases (during the update procedure, make sure the databases are updating from http://d5y.kaspersky-labs.com
  • reboot your PC

For Personal Firewall Kaspersky Anti-Hacker:

First exit Personal Firewall Kaspersky Anti-Hacker and then change old files of the program drives by new ones: 

  • change the Klif.sys file in the folder C:/WINDOWS/system32/drivers for its new version. The new version of the file can be downloaded here: ftp.kaspersky.com/utils/ActiveSync/klif.sys 
  • change the Klpf.sys file in the folder C:/WINDOWS/system32/drivers for its new version. It can be downloaded from here: ftp.kaspersky.com/utils/ActiveSync/klpf.sys
  • change the Klpid.sys file in the folder C:/WINDOWS/system32/drivers for its new version. It can be download3d from here:
    • ftp.kaspersky.com/utils/ActiveSync/WinNT/Klpid.sys - if you are using Microsoft Windows NT
    • ftp.kaspersky.com/utils/ActiveSync/Win2K/Klpid.sys  - if you are using Microsoft Windows 2000/XP 
  • reboot your PC.
