ASP.NET AJAX 1.0 Beta 2 (formerly code-named “Atlas”) is now available for download. ASP.NET AJAX is a free framework for creating client-centric, interactive Web applications that work with major browsers and operating systems. Beta 2 includes several improvements over the first Beta release, including adding the UpdateProgress control to ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions, and better support for script loading and localization. The Beta 2 release is a preview of the fully supported version of ASP.NET AJAX, scheduled for release near year-end.

The Microsoft AJAX Library is also available in an easy-to-install, standalone package for development on non-Windows systems. For more information, visit the ASP.NET AJAX site.
