Serial Number Related Profiles/Options

INV: Restrict Receipt of Serials

This profile determines if users can receive into stores the serial numbers that have been issued out of inventory and are in status 4 –Issued out of Stores.

INV: Validate Returned Serial

This profile option determines whether component serials that are returned from WIP should be validated against serials that are issued to thesame job. The available options are Yes and No. This profile option is updateable only at site level.

‘Validate Serial Numbers on RMA Receipt’ option

When this option is checked, the Serial List of Values (LOV), at the time of receipt, will contain only the valid Serial Numbers that were entered on the RMA Line (Return Lot and Serial detail form for RMA Line in Order Management). Manual entries are also validated against the Serial Numbers that were entered on the RMA Line.

In addition to above validation, system also checks the value of profile INV:Restrict Receipt of Serials and will allow receipt of a serial number in status4 – Issued out of Stores only if the value of profile is No.

If option set to Yes,we first populate a temp table mtl_rma_serial_temp deriving from oe_lot_serial_numbers to restrict the available serial numbers.
