Sublime Text editor is one of the most powerful text editor out there. While some people may consider SciTE the notepad++ of Linux, Sublime text editor still gives all its competitors a hard time. There is one problem with Sublime though, it is not a straight forward install in Linux systems. And this could be one of the reason why many beginner Linux users might stay away from it.
Probably, the high demand for an easy configuration method for Sublime led the Webupd8 team to create a PPA dedicated to it. With this PPA, installing Sublime Text 2 editor in Ubuntu is a piece of cake, literally.
How to install Sublime Text 2 editor by PPA:
Open the terminal and use the following commands to install Sublime Text 2 Editor:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/sublime-text-2sudo apt-get updatesudo apt-get install sublime-text
How to uninstall Sublime Text 2 Editor:
Mostly when people talk about an application, they only think about installing it. What about uninstalling it? Since you have added a PPA, it is advised to delete the PPA after uninstalling the PPA.
sudo apt-get remove sublime-textsudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:webupd8team/sublime-text-2
sudo apt-get update
