Laser designer is a simulation software for the system design of laser facilities. It is written by laser expert, and can be used to accomplish design, optimization, simulation, and diagnostics works of laser amplifier systems, laser beam propagation systems, laser resonance systems (include stationary wave laser systems and travelling laser systems), and ghost laser beam generation systems.
Laser designer has four design topics, which described as follows.
1. Simulation, design and optimization of laser beam propagation systems
Used to simulate, design and optimize the propagation of laser beams in any kind of passive optical systems and ghost laser beam generation systems. This topic includes 13 kinds of common optical elements now. It can simulate the propagation state of laser beams in any kinds of laser beam propagation systems, and provide the influential graphs for key-parameters of all optical elements to describe the propagation properties of the laser beams. People can use a computer mouse to obtain key-parameters of the laser beams at any position, and can modify or optimize the design of a laser beam propagation system by the actions of a computer mouse.
2. Simulation, design and optimization of stationary wave laser cavity systems
Used to simulate, design and optimize the propagation and oscillation of laser beams in any kind of stationary wave laser cavity systems. It has the same user interfaces as design topic 1 of laser designer, but the function is different, details about that please refer to other reports of this web site.
3. Simulation, design and optimization of travelling wave laser cavity systems
Used to simulate, design and optimize the propagation and oscillation of laser beams in any kind of travelling wave laser cavity systems. Its user interfaces, basic functions and running process are completely the same as design topic 2 of laser designer.
4. Simulation, design and optimization of pulse laser propagation and amplification systems
Used to simulate, design and optimize the propagation and amplification of chirped or chirped-free laser pulses in any kind of laser amplifier systems. This topic includes 18 kinds of common optical elements now. It can do positive or negative numerical calculation works for all kinds of laser amplifier system (such as single-pass amplifier system, multi-pass amplifier system, single-pass + multi-pass amplifier system, and multi-pass +multi-pass amplifier system etc.). And effects of self-phase modulation, material dispersion, gain saturation, gain narrowing, energy relaxation, laser absorption, and energy loss can all be included into the calculation process. Numerical simulation results of this topic are displayed by 17 kinds of graphs, according to them, people can easily evaluate whether the design, the input parameters (by negative calculation), the output parameters (by positive calculation), or the working conditions of laser amplifier systems are reasonable or not.
