Q.bo Basic Kit

The Q.bo Basic Kit serves as a mounting base to build your Q.bo as you please. This Kit includes plastic covers, steel chassis, mechanical parts, webcams and wifi antenna. Therefore, you can upgrade it with the servo motors, controller boards, motherboard, microprocessor or memory of your choice, thereby creating a completely customized Q.bo. On this site you will find a list of the components that you can use, recommended and tested by the team of TheCorpora.

Q.bo Complete Lite

A fully assembled Q.bo. It includes an Intel D2700MUD motherboard, an Intel ATOM D2700 microprocessor, 2GB RAM Memory, a 40GB mechanical disk and it does not include the eyelids mechanism.

Q.bo Complete Pro

A fully assembled Q.bo. It includes a Mini ITX DQ67EP motherboard with an Intel Core I3 low power consumption microprocessor, 2GB of RAM and a 40GB SSD disk.

This will change the operating system language, not the language in which the robot will talk or understand.

• Go to System Settings
• Open Language Support
• If your language isn't in the list click on “Install/Remove Language…” button, select your language and click on “Apply Changes”
• Put your language at the top of the list
• Restart your computer

The OpenQbo “iso” image does not include the actual Q.bo apps and required ROS packages. These must be downloaded and installed individually from the OpenQbo repository. The easiest way to acquire and maintain these components is to use Synaptic.

1. Launch Synaptic: Applications → Other → “Synaptic Package Manager”

2. Click on the “Origin” button in the bottom left corner and select from the left list “stable/main (repo.openqbo.org)” which correspond to the OpenQbo repositories.

3. Select the items you want to install that appear in the “Package” list.

4. Apply the Installs.

Note: if you want to check if new versions are available, click on “Reload” in the top left corner.
