Reporting Services CatalogError.

Error Message.

SQL Server 2008 RC 0 Setup shows the following error messagesafter running a set of rules to determine if the installation process will beblocked:

Rule"Reporting Services Catalog Database File Existence" failed
Rule"Reporting Services Catalog Temporary Database File Existence"failed.

Cause.

Setup program found the Reporting Services Catalog database file and ReportingServices Catalog temporary database file in the following path:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA

ReportServer.mdf
ReportServer_log.LDF
ReportServerTempDB.mdf
ReportServerTempDB_log.LDF.

Solution.

Remove the following files from the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQLServer\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA" directory:

After deleting the files, click on the "Re-run" button of theInstallation Rules setup page, and click "Next" after passing all theinstallation rules.
