If you like to learn through listening and good at writing responses to whatever you’ve heard, then you are probably an auditory learner. Auditory leaner are someone who retains information base on hearing and speaking, they are usually prefers to speak out information loud to help memorization. They understand information by listening to audible signals, such as the change of tone. There are couple ways to help an auditory learner to learn better: first, record class lecture, listen to the recording of the lecture rather than reading the lecture note; second, read the information you want to memorize loud; and last but not least, pay attention to the class discussions.

If you are someone who likes to learn about your surroundings by use your body and sense of touch, and then you are probably a kinesthetic (physical) learner. The idea of kinesthetic learning was define by Marget H’Doubler in 1940s, as the ability of human body to express itself through movement. Rather than listening to a lecture or reading a book, kinesthetic learner is more likely to learn from physical activity. Kinesthetic learner are usually been called as the “do-ers”, means they prefer to learn by the “hands-on” approach. If you are a kinesthetic learner, I would like to inform you some helpful tips that could improve your learning efficiency. First, physically touch the object you want to learn about what they do, use physical object in your learning as much as possible. Second, take break during study often; it will help you to refresh your mind. Last, record the physical feelings of your actions, it will help you memorize the information more deeply and clearly.
