USB设备可以有单独的驱动程序,也可以使用系统提供的驱动程序,这依赖于设备的类别。也就是说,如果一个USB设备属于某种类别,那么其他属于该类别的设备就可以使用同一种设备驱动。在USB设备类别中有一些是USB HID (Human InterfaceDevice)类别,它包括:输入设备,如键盘、鼠标;USB块存储设备,比如U盘、数码相机、音频播放器等;USB CDC (Communication DevicesClass,通信设备类别),比如USB口的modem或其他类似设备。
可以使用lspci(lspci -v | grep USB)来查看是否支持USB和含有的Host Controller种类(EHCI、UHCI、OHCI)。

通用串行总线(USB)是一个串行总线子系统规范,它比传统的串口速度更快并且特性更丰富(供电,热插拔,最多可接127个设备等),有望在将来一统PC外设接口。

在/proc/bus/usb里列出当前连接的usb设备(mount -t usbfs none/proc/bus/usb)。这样用户空间的程序就可以直接访问这些USB设备,基本上要使用USB设备就必须选中此项。
Lsusb(Gentoo的usbutils)从/proc/bus/usb中读取USB设备信息,如果你在编译内核时没有进行相应配置,那么lsusb就无法工作了。所以,一定要确认你的内核配置启用了/proc文件系统支持,并且保证usbfs挂载在/proc/bus/usb上(默认如此)。

AGP(图形加速端口)是一个总线系统,它可以在你的3D渲染视频卡上使用AGP特性。这个代码表现为“AGP驱动”的一种方式,在主板芯片看来。
如果你需要比你的AGP(通常支持到256MB,实际上根据内核定位事件,一般只用到64或128MB)更多的结构内存,你可以使用PCI访问得到几个GB的纹理空间。
注意这只是在AGP总线上使用MTRR来支持X/GLX的整体写入。如果没有这个功能,OpenGL直接渲染将会变得非常慢,不过仍然比PIO要快。

帧缓冲设备是为了让应用程序使用统一的接口操作显示设备而对硬件进行的抽象,建议桌面用户选择。
提供一种对图形硬件的抽象,代表一些视频硬件的帧缓冲。允许应用程序通过一个良好的接口访问图形硬件,软件不需要了解硬件底层。
X服务器会独占帧缓冲设备。对于很多非X86架构,帧缓冲是访问图形硬件的唯一方法。
可以使用fbset程序来充分利用帧缓冲设备。
对于非X86架构,需要支持且需要选择相应驱动。对于X86架构,这不是必须的,但也可以选择Y
运行直接访问硬件的图形应用程序(比如加速的X服务器),若它和帧缓冲设备不匹配可能会导致不希望的后果。
