一、好奇号火星车

2012.8,Mars Science Laboratory MSL,在火星降落,释放了携带的Curiosity好奇号火星车,并通过两个火星轨道器向地球回传科学数据。两个轨道器为Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) and the Mars Odyssey (ODY)。
好奇号火星车也可以使用ESA的Mars Express Orbiter将数据传回ESA’s deep space tracking network, ESTRACK.
这里有两条链路:
1,火星轨道器到地球的链路,Long haul,采用CCSDS “Packet Telemetry” and “Packet Telecommand”
2,火星轨道器到火星表面的链路,Proximity,采用 CCSDS Proximity-1 Space Link Protocol (Prox-1)
The MSL mission will demonstrate new Adaptive Data Rate (ADR)(How implement?) data return technology over Prox-1, which allows for up to an average 50% greater telemetry return over the life of the mission by monitoring the signal strength between the MRO and Curiosity and then adapting the rover’s data transmission rate to maximize the throughput.

2011.3.18,NASA’s MESSENGER进入Mercury水星轨道,由Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL)研制。
Prior to MESSENGER, APL missions used a raw storage model of storing data, but new mission and operational requirements meant that MESSENGER would have to incorporate a file system of data storage into its spacecraft software architecture. A reliable method of downlinking files to the ground had to be found and CFDP was chosen by mission planners to do the job.

CFDP is included in the MESSENGER software architecture initially through a reuse of a NASA Jet Propulsion Lab (NASA JPL) implementation on the ground and an APL “CFDP-lite” implementation on the flight side. The NASA JPL implementation is also used on NASA’s highly successful Deep Impact mission. The NASA Goddard Space Flight Center is also using CFDP on its Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter mission.
CFDP在地面使用NASA JPL实现版本,在飞行器上实现了CFDP-lite CFDP精简版。

“With CFDP, our flight controllers can spend most of their time monitoring subsystem and instrument health and safety in the extreme environment of Mercury, and focusing on our weekly command sequence and ephemeris loads, rather than on file management," says MESSENGER Mission Operations Manager Andy Calloway.
