Categories of performance problems

In general, the first input for a performance analysis comes from observations made by users. The workload monitor helps you verify users' subjective comments and isolate the causes of performance problems. We can distinguish between two types of problems:

->General performance problem
A general performance problem results in poor response times and unsatisfactory throughput in all transactions. This type of problem can have a negative impact on business processes and lead to financial loss.
-> Specific performance problem
If the throughput or response time of individual transactions is unsatisfactory, this is referred to as a specific performance problem. Specific performance problems can have a negative impact on business processes if the transaction in question is key to the business process (such as ordering/delivering goods).
