man COMMAND can display the usage of the command. But sometimes I want some software for a task, but I don’t know what is the exact command, how to deal with it?
The answer is using man with -k option. This searches for all commands whose NAME section contains specific keywords. letter k means keyword.
we can also use command: apropos. it does not distinguish upper and lower case.

another option is -f, means files
man -f COMMAND would list all the NAME sections in the manual, in all 8 sections.
this is same as command: whatis.
