install boost 1.6.0

1. download boost 1.6.0 from the official website

http://www.boost.org/users/history/version_1_60_0.html

2.extract the compressed file to a target directory, in my case it's:

C:\work_files\boost_1_60_0

3. open windows command prompt, change your current directory to the Boost root directory. Then type the following commands: 

bootstrap

The command prepares the Boost.Build system for use.

4. create a text file, input the following contents and rename as boost_build.bat:

for 32-bit:

b2 toolset=msvc-14.0 variant=release threading=multi link=shared define=_SECURE_SCL=0 define=_HAS_ITERATOR_DEBUGGING=0  b2 toolset=msvc-14.0 variant=debug threading=multi link=shared

for 64-bit:

b2 toolset=msvc-14.0 address-model=64 variant=release threading=multi link=shared define=_SECURE_SCL=0 define=_HAS_ITERATOR_DEBUGGING=0  b2 toolset=msvc-14.0 address-model=64 variant=debug threading=multi link=shared

note that if want to compile 64-bit version with 32-bit existing, you'd better to back up your 32-bit files because their file names are the same which will lead to the 32-bit files be replaced.

This command invokes Boost.Build to build the separately-compiled Boost libraries. Please consult the Boost.Build documentation for a list of allowed options.
