Microsoft.NETPassport作为受支持的身份验证机制集成到InternetInFORMationServices(IIS)中。这种集成在核心Web服务器中提供.NETPassport身份验证，并使用标准.NETPassport组件所提供的.NETPassport2.0版接口。在验证了护照身份后，.NETPassport用户就通过他们的.NETPassport标识映射到ActiveDirectory的用户（如果有这样的映射）。本地安全机构(LSA)为用户创建令牌，IIS为HTTP请求设置令牌。应用程序开发人员和Web站点管理人员可在运行IIS6.0服务的服务器上，将这个安全模型用作基于ActiveDirectory和ACL的用户的授权。

IIS：ASP死锁检测

ASP现在定期监视它的运行状况，如果发现它的运行不正常，或者如果发现它的大多数线程已挂起，它就通知该条件的用户进程，如果打开了运行状况监视，就会再生这个不正常的用户进程。

IIS：WMI提供程序中的连接和多尺寸属性

在Beta3中，WMI提供程序可将连接字符串分成单独的类型安全的属性。该功能允许Web管理员方便地处理复杂值ADSI和WMI属性（如脚本映射和自定义错误）、数组值的属性（如筛选器、默认主页名等）。

IIS：对HTTP.SYS中瞬时注册的支持

该功能为IIS6.0使用的HTTP.SYS驱动程序的瞬时注册提供支持。实际上，要通过HTTP.SYS发送和接收数据/请求的开发人员可使用HTTP.SYS堆栈，而不是编写ISAPI扩展或由IIS托管的其他Web应用程序。这在以下情况下尤其有用：开发人员已经编写了他们的应用程序，并且不希望花太多的精力重新构建由IIS托管的应用程序。
