The idea of using a 2D LRF as a 3D scanner,three disadvantages:

(1)the limited field of view facing only to the front of the robot

(2)The vibrations fromthe robot chassisare carried through the construction with springs to the LRF and thus decrease its accuracy

(3)the most important is the lack of a calibration
