Exchange ActiveSync behind ISA won't work.

I get a HTTP_440 error on my smartphone in Activesync when I try to sync over the GPRS network back to our Exchange server. However, it works fine when I plug into the USB cable on my laptop which is connected to the wireless network behind the ISA server. The device then connects using pass-through rather than the GPRS settings and so I'm assuming this is an ISA 2004 problem? Anyone out there seen this problem or dealt w/ ISA 2004 SP1 issues when using Exchange 2003 SP2? Here are the rules in ISA for the Exchange server. 1. SMTP publishing rule for inbound email. 2. OWA publishing rule using with the web listener & FBA on 443/HTTPS, OMA, OWA are working from the device as well as other PC browsers over the internet and outside the network. 3. RPC over HTTP publishing rule (which I've never been able to get working) No errors in the exchange server's event log nor anything in the ISA server event log. The actual error on the device says: Synchronization failed. Try again later. Error code: HTTP_440 ActiveSync failed to configure your account to sync as new items arrive. Contact your Microsoft Exchange administrator.

What virtual directories have you got published again in ISA? Just publishing the /exchange won't cut it. You need to publish the ExchangeActiveSync VD as well. Often people just open 443 to the server whilst testing and then lock it down to restrict the traffic.
