This is the story of hapu.
这是一个关于HAPU的故事。
He lives in Ancient Egypt at the time of Queen Cleopatra. （克娄巴特拉女王）
他生活在古老的克娄巴特拉女王时代。

His faher,Bak,has a small factory.He makes gold tables and chairs.
他的父亲BAK有一个小的工厂。用来制作金属的桌子和椅子。

Hapu helps him.He is a “fireboy”.
Hapu在他父亲的工厂帮忙，他是一个“小金匠”。
Everyday he pushes a long handle up and down.
每天他都需要长时间向上向下地推动把手。
The work is hot and very hard.
这个工作非常热而且需要耗费很多的精力（需要工作非常努力）。
But what can he his father do?
但是他的父亲又能怎么办呢？（即使明明知道儿子很辛苦）
They are poor people.They need to make money.
因为他们是穷苦的人民。他们需要赚钱维持生计。
Every evening they sit beside the Nile.
每天晚上他们都是坐在附近的尼罗河边上。
Bak talks to his son about the factory,tomorrow`s work-everything.
BAK与他儿子谈论关于工厂的一些事情，关于明天工作的一切安排。
“One day we’re going to be very rich,”he tells Hapu.
“总有一天，我们会变得非常富有的”。他告诉HAPU。
“Are we?”The fireboy looks into his father`s tired eyes.
“我们吗”小金匠深深地看着他父亲那皮惫的双眼。
“Yes.”Bak smiles.”I don`t know how and I don`t know when,but we are.”Then he stands up.
“是的”BAK笑着回答。“我不知道怎样并且我也不知道是什么时候，但是我们一定会的”然后他起身站起来。
“Come on,”he says. “It`s late. Let`s go home.”
    “起来吧”他说：“时间不早了，我们该回家了”。

Three days later Hapu and Bak are making a table.
三天后，HAPU及BAK正在做一张桌子。
It`s very hot in the room.
屋子里面非常热。
Suddenly Bsk stops work.
突然BAK停止了工作。
“What is it, father?”Hapu saks. “Is something wrong?”
“这是什么，爸爸？”HAPU问到：“出了什么问题了吗”
“I don`t know,”Bak answers.He closes his eyes.
“我不知道”BAK回答到，他闭上了眼睛。
“It`s my head.I can`t…”And then he falls on the ground.
“我的头不能。。。”然后他跌倒在地面上。
“Father!”Hapu runs to Bak and puts one hand under his hesd. “Father—are you all right?”
“爸爸！“HAPU跑到BAK身边，将一只手枕在他的头下：“爸爸，这样感觉好点了吗？”

The next day Bak stays in bed.
第二天，BAK躺在了床上。
“I`m sorry.Hapu,”he says. “I want to work but I can`t. I`m ill.”
“我很抱歉HPAU”他说“我想工作，但是因为我生病而不能工作了”
Hapu is very sad. “Father works too hard,”he thinks.
HAPY非常伤心“爸爸工作太辛苦了”他想。
“That`s why he`s ill.Weneed more money—but what can I do?”
“所以他才会生病。我们需要很多钱—但是我应该怎么做？”
Then he has an idea. “Of course!”he thinks.
然后他有了一个主意：“太棒了！”他认为
“I must make something for somebody very rich. Somebody like…the Queen!”
    “我必须专门为富人设计制作一些东西。他们喜欢。。。。女王”

Bak is ill for two weeks.
Bak 己经病了两个星期了。
In that time Hapu makes a lot of tables and chairs.
在那期间，HAPU做了许多的桌子和椅子。
But not only tables and chairs .
但是不仅仅是桌子和椅子。
He makes a gold necklace,too.
他也做了黄金项链。
There!”he thinks late one night.”It`s ready. “he smiles.
“那里“他想了一个晚上“它好了。”他微笑着。
The necklace is very beautiful.
这个项链非常漂亮。
“Queen Cleopatra is going to like this.”Hapu thinks.
“克娄巴特拉女王 将会非常喜欢它的。“HAPU
“She`s going to pay a lot of money for it,too I know she is.”
“她也会花很多钱购买它，我知道她会的”。
 
The next morning he goes to Cleopatra`s palace.
第二天早上，他去了克娄巴特拉王宫。
The necklace is in a bag under his shirt.
那条项莲在他衬衣的品袋里。
“What du you want?”asks a palace guard.There are two guards.Each one has a sword.
“你想做什么？”王宫的卫士问到。王宫的两边一边站了一排佩剑的警卫。
“I want to see the Queen,”Hapu answers.
“我想参见女王”HAPU回答到。
Both guards laugh. “Go home,boy,”saya one of them.
两边的警卫都笑了“小子，回家吧”他们中间的一个说到。
“Queen Cleopatra doesn`t see people like you. ”
“克娄巴特拉女王不会见像你这样的人的”
Hapu is very unhappy.
HAPU非常不开心。
“What do I do now?”he thinks.
“我现在怎么办呢”他想。
He leaves the palace and begins to walk home.
他离开了王宫，开始走回家。
But ten minutes later he passes two nem in the market.
但是十分钟后，他在菜市场遇到了两个人。
“Cleopatra`s women are coming here tomorrm morning,”says one.
“克娄巴特拉女王的女仆明天早上将会来这里”一个人说。
“They`re arriving very early.They want to buy lots of new clothes for her”.
“他们会很早到达，他们想为女王购买一些新衣服给她。”
“That`s very good news,”Hapu thinks.
“那是一个非常好的消息。“HAPU想。

The next day the fireboy gets up very early.
小金匠第二天起得非常早。
He makes a cup of sweet tea for Bak.
他为BAK准备了一杯糖水。
Then he goes to the market.
然后他去了菜市场。
“I can give the necklace to Cleopatra`s women,”he thinks. “They can give it to the Queen for me.”
“我可以把这条项链给克娄巴特拉女王的女仆“他想“然后他们能帮我将项链带给女王。”
He waits and waits.For a long time nothing happens.
他等了又等。很长的一段时间都没有任何一点消息。
Then music starts to play.A moment later Hapu sees a long line of people.They are coming from the palace.
接着音乐开始响起来，一会HAPU看到了长长的一排队伍。他们从王宫那边过来。

Is sitting in it.Hapu puts one hand across his eyes.
在这坐着。HAPU用手使劲揉了一下眼睛。
It`s the Queen!”he thinks. “She`s coming,too!”
“是女王！”他觉得“她也来了！”
A minute later Cleopatra arrives.
一分钟后，克娄巴特拉到达了。
Suddenly everyone is very quiet.
突然每个人都安静了下来。
Then Hapu thinks, “This is the moment.”
HAPU想：“这就是我要等的这一刻了”
He runs in front of Cleopatra`s chair. “Stop!”he says. “please.stop!”
他跑到克娄巴特接女王座椅前：“停下！”他喊：“请停下。”
The Queen looks at him. “What do you want?”she asks.Hapu gives her the necklace.
女王看到了他，“你想做什么”她问到。HAPU将项链递给了女王。

“Is this really your work?”asks Cleopatra.
：这真的是你做出来的吗？“克娄巴特拉问到。
“Yes,yes,it is,”Hapu answers.
“是的，是的，是我做的“HAPU回答到。
“Guards!”says Cleopatra. “Give this boy some money”.
“警卫！”克娄巴特拉女王说“给这个男孩一些钱”
She holds the necklace in her hands.
她将项链戴在了她的手上。
“This is beautiful”,she says.Then she leaves.
“这个非常漂亮”她说，然后她便离开了。

Hapu runs home.He is very,very happy.
HAPU跑回了家，他非常非常高兴。
Bak is in bed. “Look!”Hapu says. He shows the money from Cleopatra`s necklace to his father.
BAK还躺在在床上。“看”HAPU喊到。他将从克数巴特拉女王的项链上获得的钱给他父亲看。

“But how…?”Bak closes his eyes,then opens them again.
“但是你是怎么。。。？”BAK闭上眼睛，然后重新打开。
“I don`t understand,”he says.Hapu smiles.
“我不明白”，他说。HAPU笑了。
He sits down and tells his father everything.
他坐下并告诉了他父亲所发生的一切。
At the end of the story Bak says, “You`re a good son,Hapu. Thank you.”
在故事的最后，BAK说“HAPU你是一个非常好的儿子，谢谢你。”

That night Hapu looks up at the stars.
那天晚上，HAPU仰望着天空的星星。
“Now I can pay for a doctor to visit father”he thinks.
“现在我可以请一个医生来为爸爸看病了”他想。
“Then,after father is strong again…”
“然后等到爸爸好了以后再。。。”
But at that moment he stops.
但是他的思绪被打乱了。
One of Cleopatra`s guards is standing in front of him. He has a big sword.
一个克娄巴拉特女王的警卫站在了他的面前。他佩着一把大刀。
“Are you Hapu,son of Bak?”he asks.
“你是HAPU，BAK的儿子吗？”他问到。
Hapu look at him. “Yes.yes,I am,”he answers.
HAPU看着他：“是的，是的，我是”他回答说。
“Come with me,”says the guard.
“请跟我走”警卫说。
“Queen Cleopatra likes your work.She wants to give you a job at the palace.”
“克娄巴特拉女王欣赏你的工作，她想给你在王宫安排一个工作”。
“But I have a job,”Hapu says.
“但是我有工作了”HAPU说
“I work with my father.I can`t leave him.You don`t underst…
“我跟我爸爸在一起工作，我不能离开他，你不能理解的。。。”
“No,you don`t understand,”the guard says.
“不，你没有理解”警卫说。
“When the Queen gives you a job,you take it.”He puts one hand on his sword.
“当女王赐予你一个工作的时候，你必须接受他”，他将一只手放在他的剑上。
“Now go and say goodbye to your father.”
“请现在跟我说并跟你父亲说再见”

At the palace Cleopatra talks to Hapu.
在王宫，克娄巴特拉与HAPU进行谈话。
She si wearing his necklace.
她戴着他做的项链。
“I want you to live here and make lots of beautiful things for me,”she says.
“我希望你留在这里为我做更多漂亮的东西”。她说。
“Thank you,Queen of the Nile,”Hapu says.
“谢谢你，尼罗河女王”HAPU说。
“But…”“Bur?”The Queen looks at Hapu.
“但是。。。”“但是？”女王看着HAPU。
“But…I can`t live here.You see,my father is very ill and…”Hapu tells the Queen everything.
“但是。。。我不能留在这里。你知道我父亲病得非常严重且。。。。”HAPU告诉了女王一切。

At the end of Hapu`s story, Cleopatra looks at him.
在HAPU的故事最后，克娄巴克拉望着他“很好”她说。
“All right,”she says.

“You can go home to your father.But…”
“你可以回家与你的父亲在一起，但是。。。”
“But?”asks Hapu.
“但是？”HAPU问到
“But from today,the two of you work only for me.Do you understand?”
“但是从今天开始，你们两个人只能为我工作。你明白吗？”
“Oh yes!”Hapu smiles.He is very happy.
“哦，好的！”HAPU笑了，他非常兴。
Now he and his father can make lots of beautiful things and be rich.
这样从今开始，他和他的爸爸就能做很多漂亮的东西，而且也会变得非常富有。

“Yes,I understand.”
“是的，我明白了”
