Scenario/Requirements Based Testing

Industry analysts have determined that 70% of time spent developing new products is consumed by testing, and 50% of the development cost is related to that testing. Given that most testing activities take place at the end of the development process, these figures are not surprising. With the ever-growing pressure to deliver higher quality products, in shorter time and with fewer resources, managers and developers must continuously evaluate the effectiveness of their testing process.

Telelogic Rhapsody TestConductor™ is the first UML® (Unified Modeling Language™) compliant, scenario based test generation and validation suite for real-time embedded applications. Using Rhapsody TestConductor, developers can test their design against its requirements and throughout the development process, detecting design errors early on in the development process. Early testing has been proven to reduce development time, and the associated cost, while significantly improving product quality.

Test Conductor Features

  • Define tests graphically, using UML Sequence Diagrams
  • Use stubs, monitors and test drivers
  • Instantiate parameterized Sequence Diagrams
  • Drive your design according to the system border... while monitoring all interactions
  • Analyze failure with color-coded Sequence Diagrams

Telelogic Rhapsody ATG

Rhapsody Automatic Test Generator (ATG) is a UML® model-based testing solution for system and software engineers. Rhapsody ATG allows users to define and test individual components for specific purposes such as State and Transition coverage, MC/DC coverage, or isolation of a particular class from the overall design. Additionally, ATG allows the user to identify model elements that have not been covered allowing for the identification of dead code at critically early stages of development. While test cases can be used for Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and Regression Testing to be output in ASCII or XMI, they can also be exported to Rhapsody TestConductor providing the user with a white box view of the test case execution while generating linkable results for full traceability in a flexible and fully scalable testing environment.
