SYMPTOMS

The following error is received after an upgrade to 11.2.0.4:
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [rwoirw: check ret val], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], []

You find some or all of the following function codes in the 'Call Stack' portion of the incident trace file:
qertqostart qerpxslavefetch qerpxfetch opiexe kpoal8 opiodr

CHANGES

Upgrade to 11.2.0.4.

CAUSE

This can occur if the optimizer statistics are stale.

SOLUTION

Cross-check for any information about this while executing Pre-Upgrade Information Tool (utlu111i.sql)

Next, try to collect the data dictionary and fixed objects stats using following procedures:

   SQL> exec dbms_stats.gather_dictionary_stats;

   SQL> exec dbms_stats.gather_fixed_objects_stats;

Follow the steps mentioned in Note: 837570.1 Complete Checklist for Manual Upgrades to 11gR2, and be sure to run the data dictionary and fixed objects statistics.
When upgrading to Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2), optimizer statistics are collected for dictionary tables that lack statistics. This procedure gathers statistics
for dictionary schemas 'SYS', 'SYSTEM' and schemas of RDBMS components.
