ORA-03113: End-of-file on Communication Channel Upon Startup of Database (文档 ID 422646.1)

SYMPTOMS

Upon startup of database, receive error ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel.  No entries are written in the alert.log.

CAUSE

This may be caused by a filesize limit on the operating system.  The alert.log may be too large and will not allow any more entries to be written to it; hence the error occurs.

SOLUTION

Delete the alert.log or move it to another file name (if history is needed).

A new alert.log will automatically be recreated.
