待完成销量 pending sales

就在中国楼市前景依然不明朗时，国内赴美购房团已赶赴大洋彼岸抄底美国房地产。而据美国本周二公布的统计数据显示，去年12月份美国楼市小幅回弹，合同售房数量比去年同期高出2.1个百分点。

Pending sales of existing US homes rebounded in December, data showed on Tuesday, as buyers waded back into the market to take advantage of lower prices and mortgage interest rates.

据本周二公布的数据显示，去年12月，美国现存房产待完成销量有所反弹，购房者利用价格和房贷利率下降的有利时机重新杀回房地产市场。

在上面的报道中，pending sales也就是pending home sales，指的是成屋待完成销售量，它指的是那些已经签署合同但尚未完成的成屋销售。Pending home sales index（成屋待完成销售指数）是一项衡量房地产市场变化的常见指数，若指数上升则预示房地产市场回调，而若指数持续走低则预示房地产市场仍将低位运行。

Pending在这里指“未定的、悬而未决的”，如：The lawsuit was then pending（那件讼案尚未解决），pending further discussion（尚待进一步讨论），因此the plan is still pending so far（计划目前还没有执行），this matter must wait pending her return from Europe（这件事必须等到她从欧洲回来再处理）。

我们平时还常用in the air这种很形象的说法来表示“悬而未决”，常见的用法是be up in the air。 They are eager to see the band U2 in concert, but their tour schedule is very much up in the air. （他们希望能看到U2的演唱会，但是他们的演出行程还不确定）。
