隔壁同住一个House室友的Acer便携机可以通过有线访问网络，但无法使用无线网络（Dlink G604T无线路由器就装在她屋外门框的上侧），无线信号满格，但试图连接时，系统总是提示“无线网络无法连接，网络不在区域中”。（房东希望空出更多的有线网口，以便给更多房客使用。）

室友便携机基本情况：室友的电脑是xp操作系统，且只安装sp2；无线网卡为Intel® PRO/Wireless 2915ABG。

查了Internet，找到可能的原因是：缺少补丁KB893357

This update to Windows XP provides support for Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2), which is the latest standards-based wireless security solution derived from the IEEE 802.11i standard. (for details in www.microsoft.com).

核对路由器上安全设置：默认使用WPA机制。

核对操作系统：此补丁是基于xp sp2上的（Supported Operating Systems: Windows XP Home Edition ; Windows XP Media Center Edition; Windows XP Professional Edition ; Windows XP Service Pack 2; Windows XP Tablet PC Edition）。

看来这是老的系统遇到新无线接入安全技术的应用而产生的问题（IT技术更新确实是快）。

下载补丁，安装后，问题解决。
