 Using Device Manager

If there is a problem with a device listed in device manager hardware tree, there should be a symbol indicating the type of the problem.

  • A black exclamation mark on a yellow field indicates the device is in a problem state.
  • A red cross mark indicates that the device is disabled.
  • A blue "i" on a white field on a device resource indicates that the "Use Automatic Settings" feature is not enabled and the device is using manually selected resource. This does NOT mean it is in a problem state.
  • A green questiong mark means a compatible device driver is installed, indicating all of the functionality of the device may not be available.
