Set up tftp on Fedora

1. installation

- check if components  are installed

# rpm -qa *xine* *tftp*

- install via yum

 # yum install xinetd tftp-server tftpd

2. configuration

- edit the configure file 

# vi /etc/xinetd.d/tftp service tftp
{
        disable = no
        socket_type             = dgram
        protocol                = udp
        wait                    = yes
        user                    = root
        server                  = /usr/sbin/in.tftpd
        server_args             = -s /back/tftp -c
        per_source              = 11
        cps                     = 100 2
        flags                   = IPv4
}-  create a root directory for tftp

# mkdir -p /back/tftp

#chmod 777 /back/tftp

- create a file to test whether tftp works

#echo aaa > /back/tftp/1

- restart tftp

#service xinetd restart

3. test tftp

tftp <IP>

tftp> get 1

4. trouble shooting

Make sure firewall and selinux are turned off.
