四川的地震救援行动感动世界

灾难面前，世界人民的心息息相通、连成一片。四川大地震发生4天后，中国政府和人民的救援努力丝毫不敢松懈；与此同时，全球网民也在通过互联网时时刻刻了解、体察、关切中国的灾情，其中好多人通过中国日报网英文论坛发来了他们的只言片语，表达了世界人民对中国人民的无限祝福。

Just want to say that, as a mother, looking at the photographs of quake victims on this website made me cry today. I cannot imagine how much grief the affected families are going through. My thoughts are with them. Also, the tireless work of rescue and recovery must be relentless and exhausting, but it is always so inspiring to see how people help people in a crisis.

Wen is truly beautiful and moving. The love and care that he shows in his supportive actions towards his fellow Chinese shows what a true and wonderful official he is and represent, he is truly there for his people. Each hour since this horrific event happened there have been many people of all walks of life who have moved many with their selflessness. They all deserve to be acknowledged but most will never be. This includes police officers, firemen, soldiers, medics, and civilians. I only hope and pray that there are many more survivors yet to be found and reunited with their loved ones.

I am a foreign teacher in Kaifung Henan and would like to say that all of china should be proud of their government and army and their speedy help to the people of the quake they showed the world that this is a government that cares. i feel very sad every day for the victims and proud to be in china for 6 years. I wouldn't want to be any where else in the world even though iam an American and German citizen. I personally believe its the best i have a PHD in Computer science and i think quite clever so what i say is from years of working in 47 countries and i found the best.

I applaud the Chinese government at all levels for what they are doing for the earthquake victims. However, I would like to make 4 suggestions for the future:
1. From this moment forward the building codes for the individual farm houses and the buildings (schools, apartments, etc.) in the villages must meet stricter requirements. I understand that the skyscrapers in the large cities already are up to code after year 2000, but the small buildings in the rural areas should meet stricter requirements as well.
2. During the year, life saving information has to be provided and practice drills have to be held as for what to do during and after a natural disaster with city residents and with rural residents.
3. In the rural areas volunteer force of fire/rescue should be created so that local rescue could initially start saving lives immediately after a disaster.
4. Each household MUST be advised to have a basic first aid kit available.
To the OVERSEAS Chinese I MUST urge you all to donate cash to the aid relief agencies in CHINA. That is the least we could do for our ancestral homeland.
To those non-Chinese who are helping and/or have offered help to CHINA I want to say THANK YOU.
To the current Japanese government and to South Korea who have offered generous help I want to say XIE XIE to our Asian cousins.
To the current Australian government I want to say the offer of assistance to a friend in need is indeed from a true friend.


赞赏中国政府 提出四点建议
我赞赏中国政府为地震灾民所做的各项工作。不过我希望对中国未来抗震措施提出四点建议：
1. 今后民用住房和学校公寓等建筑物必须达到严格的质量标准。我知道大城市的摩天大楼在2000年后都超过了质量规范要求，但是农村地区的小型建筑也应该有更严格的质量标准。
2. 政府应该大力宣传灾害救生信息，进行救灾演习，让城市和乡村民众了解在灾害中和灾害发生后应该怎么做。
3. 应该在农村地区建立消防员或救生员志愿者组织，以便灾害发生后立即开展救援行动。
4. 必须建议每个家庭有一个基本的急救箱。
我呼吁所有海外华人为中国救灾机构捐款，这是我们能为祖国能做的最基本的事。
