Bug Rules

 

The bug "rules" are something every tester should keep in mind when writing bug reports. Remember these points to help you write bugs efficiently and completely.

The summary should be very clear and concise. It should be easy to understand and to the point.

Make sure you list all of the steps necessary to create the bug. Leaving out even one seemingly insignificant step could change everything and make the bug unreproducible.

Call special attention to an anomaly with words such as "Notice" (for visual error) and "Result", and list what you "Expected".

Since the bug is only a technical anomaly and you are just the reporter of it, state only the facts, i.e., who, what ,where, when, and why.

Use abbreviations wherever appropriate.

Keep sentences short and leave out any filler grammar to make it easier to understand the bug at a glance.
