Think from long term

I often feel sad when I meet difficulties. At that time, I only think about how to solve it and always to try my best even by sacrificing my personal time. Sometimes I ask myself, is the work worth my time? Probably not, especially if I think from long term.
I still remember clearly the hard work I did in the first company I joined about 17 years ago. But what had I got from the work? I am sure there is almost nothing. And I would say I lost a lot.
Today, the situation is quite similar. In the past several years, I worked really hard for the company. And I did get some money and rewards from the company. However, some people worked not that hard but got the similar rewards. Some of them even got more. I can say that is unfair. But I am not able to change that.
I need to think about my future. Should I still work that hard? No, I should not, especially from long term perspectives.
