Persistence

1 Beginning:

Have you ever regretted not to have achievedyour personal goals due to slack[slæk]?

I’m a typical guy with the problem of slack.Learning English grammar, reciting new English words, practicing oral English, all this just hasn’t last long each time from the start.

Year after year, I am energetically tryingto carry out my thoughts, but each time it just wouldn’t last long and then vanished.

So, I told myself many times before thedating with Toastmasters: ”This time, once started, carry to the finish”

Because I failed so many times owing toslack, and I don’t want to be a lazy and cowardly guy, a son without any goodperformance can be proud to my parents, a father without anything can be shownoff by my children.

So, I persist in attending regularmeetings, sharing my ideas, losing my face at EF Phoenixes. Then, What aboutyou? that’s the question for today’s table topic in your heart.

Conclusion:

Thank everyone for contributing to thismeeting. You’ve really impressed me with your power.

Though we haven’t the chances to share ourideas about persistence in Table Topic section, but I still want to remindeveryone, including myself, to always keep these words in our mind “When youwant to give up or just have a slack, ask yourself to recall the initial vow[vaʊ]and continue going; then, when we get old,we can leave without so much regret” that’s what I have got from persistence. Whatabout you? thank you.

Feedback:

Bonnie Yang: Suggest to be 'bossy' when necessary since you are the controller on the stage. For example, Jill's answer should come from you when the guest first raised the question "they need more chances to practise"
