北航的校园生活

BUAA has a beautiful campus with the forestation rate up to more than 50%. Covered with dense trees, the campus is divided into four relatively independent quarters, namely the teaching quarter, student's living quarter, residential quarter, and the science quarter. Quite a number of culture-related spots all over the campus reflect the traditional education culture of the university and the feature of aeronautics and astronautics.

Years of educational practice has given BUAA a great deal of experience, laid the foundation of university culture, and bred the current school spirit of “simple living, diligent learning, all-round development and courageous innovation” and the Beihang spirit of “having the courage to innovate and to be good, working hard, being undaunted by repeated setbacks, sincerity, earnestness, being cooperative and dedicated, loving the country and honoring BUAA”.

BUAA is well-known for its lively and vigorous student activities in science, technology, arts, and sports. Campus culture centering around innovation in science and technology has formed a broad network with the “Feng Ru Cup” competition of extracurricular inventions in science and technology, the Festival of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Festival of Culture and Arts, and the Festival of Sports. The annual festivals of science, technology and culture have provided BUAA students with ample opportunities for creative activities. BUAA is the only university of science and technology in China that has won the “Victory Cup” for 8 consecutive years. The BUAA Student Art Ensemble, which comprises a dance troupe, a chorus, a chamber music group, and a Chinese folk music band, is noted for its high artistic standards. In addition to promoting BUAA's artistic side, the ensemble has represented the university in various contests and received remarkable honors. BUAA's volleyball team, famous for its excellent performance, has won championships in the All China college volleyball contests many times.

   北京航空航天大学是一所美丽的校园，绿化面积超过校园总面积的50%。在浓密的绿树覆盖下，校园被分为相互联系而有个具特色四个区。四个区的名字分别为，教学区，学生生活区，住宅区和科学区。学校建有很多文化相关的景点，这影响了传统的文化教育的大学和航空航天领域。

   多年的教学实践，已经赋予了北航丰富的经验，建立了校园文化，传承了目前学校的校训"生活俭朴，刻苦学习，全面发展，勇于创新"，和北航的校训"勇于创新，挑战自我，努力工作，敢于面对挫折和追求真理，齐心协力，甘于奉献，爱国爱校".

    北航以那些精力充沛和积极活跃的学生，参加到科学，技术，艺术，体育而著名。校园文化中心在科学技术上充满了创新，并且形成了一个大规模的活动叫做"丰儒杯"，它是一个课外科学技术和竞赛，它是航空航天日，文化艺术节，运动会。每年科学技术文化节，都会给学生提供大量的活动创新机会。北京是中国唯一一所连续8年获得"优胜者杯"的理工类大学。

    北航的学生艺术团，由一个跳舞协会，一个现代音乐组织，和一个中国古典音乐乐队组成，它代表了北航的高级的艺术水准。除了推进艺术方面的修养，这些代表学校参加演出的学生，获得另人可喜的成绩。北航的排球队以其出色的表现而名声远扬，多次赢得中国大学生排球锦标赛的桂冠。
